Fares for children riding the Long Island Rail Road: Child Fare applies to peak trains and Family Fare applies to off-peak, weekend and holiday trains. Children 5-11 years old ride for 50% of adult fares; children under 5 years old ride free at all times. "Family Fare" is available for off-peak travel.
